During spring time, when flowers start blooming, pollens pervade the air, ushering in the season for allergy. The pervasive pollens combine with the regular dust particles already in the atmosphere, intensifying the ordeal of the allergic population.
Allergy is the result when the immune system of the body responds to certain substances present in the environment. Allergic reactions are activated by allergens. These reactions are manifested by nettle-like rash, coughing, runny nose, shortness of breath, sneezing, severe wheezing, inflammation of the sinus, and eye and ear itchiness.
All allergic people know that their ailment has no known cure. All remedies have the sole purpose of making the symptoms milder, so patients can enjoy a better quality of life. This disease never goes away, but responsible persons can live for years without experiencing any symptoms at all.
Chronic diseases like allergy are an evil we have to learn to live with and try to minimize its effects on our lifestyle. This is why scientists develop symptomatic medication, in order to alleviate symptoms of such ailments. These are not cures, but alleviations.
