Talking “Online”

So I want to discuss my experiences with talking with other people online. If you are going to do it you need to get a hold of yourself and understand the consequences. Talking online is way different than talking in person. You may feel like you can approach and talk to people you would not otherwise talk to this. This is especially true with the recent launch of Facebook chat. Now all you have to do is friend someone you might know or heard of and if they accept your friend request you can now talk to them in real time.

The problem with this is that girls in particular have a tendency to get creeped out by guys who start talking to them online who they are not really friends with and have not talked to before in person. So DO NOT do this unless you are okay with them blocking you or removing you from their friends list.

However, if you do feel the need to talk to them online without having talk to them in person. Get the balls to talk to them in person. If you can’t get the balls to talk to them in person then say hi and maybe something like I know your friend so and so or I go to the same so and so as you. Then stop the conversation at that.

If you are going to talk to people online do not talk to them about anything related to sex or relationships or physical contact. They are going to think you are weird and get creeped out. Maybe this is not the same for girls 25+ but I do not have experience in this. For girls younger than this, just do not start the conversations.

In my mind talking to people online is a waste of time, it takes much longer than in person or on the phone and it does not have the same personal connection as those mediums do. If you are trying to pursue friendships or relationships online understand that people can and will get creeped out depending on what you say and how you approach it. Ask yourself, if I was talking to them in person or if I saw this person in person, is this how I would handle and approach this situation.
