Throw a Brunch

Whether its a Sunday morning and you want to invite some of your friends over to get together, or you need to throw some sort of celebration party for a coworkers promotion, a great way to do it is by holding a brunch. Throwing a brunch might seem difficult, but its no more difficult than throwing any other type of party, you just need to know what you are doing.

Start by coming up with a theme. Your going to service breakfast, but what exactly are you going to serve? Are you going to make it easy and serve bagels and donuts? Or are you going for the works with eggs, bacon, toast, etc. The fancier the food, the more costly it will be and the more work it will be.

For example, if you had a party with eggs, bacon, and sausage and you are expecting a lot of guests, it will cost a lot more than if you had donuts and rolls. Try to understand that some foods are much more expensive then others, so pick according to how many people will be there. You should decide this ahead of time.

If you are going to do a quick lunch or a more detailed lunch you are going to need specifics either way. What kind of food will you need? Be specific about what kinds and how much. Don’t forget beverages, plates, napkins, utensils, etc. Make up a grocery list with specific items and amounts.

Are you going to make it a pancake brunch? Decide if you will offer lots of varieties of pancakes or lots of varieties of toppings. Be creative. If you give a lot of choices, it can be more fun and exciting for your friends.

It’s better to have extra food than it is to not have enough. This doesn’t mean you should let people get away without an RSVP. Make sure you know how many people will be attending and you will make it much easier for yourself. Be as accurate as possible so that you don’t waste food.

Next you will have to think beyond food. Are you going to decorate? Even just having pretty tablecloths and napkins and fancy cups and plates can make it look just a little more special. You can do a lot with brunch decorations.

Set a date, and ask people for help if there are going to be a lot of guests. If you are asking others to bring food, make sure they are actually going to bring in what they offered and that they are bringing enough. Most importantly, dont stress out too much, just have fun.
